In the realization of this hour, the world’s view of the church has been reduced to a mediocre institution that has no profound effect on society.  The cause of this perception has been influenced by various means such as poor and powerless leadership, mismanagement of church funds, and secular propaganda that stigmatizes the validity and credibility of the “church.”  Through these influences many souls have been damaged and destroyed, never understanding or coming into the full knowledge of God.

To embark upon the challenge of destroying the misconstrued views and adage the world has placed on the church, God called Darrell L. Parker, Sr. to pastoral office.  He was anointed by God to preach, teach, and bring healing through demonstrating the power of the Holy Ghost.  His quest to bring honor and integrity back to the church is unfeigned.  Through his unwavering commitment by surrendering all to God, the cost was counted up and he stepped out on faith to start a ministry in Savannah, Georgia.  After taking this great step of faith in starting a ministry, Pastor Parker was led by Holy Spirit to St. John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”  On these words, God gave Parker the name of this ministry, New Birth Christian Center, Inc. (NBCC).  The first service was held on March 21, 1993 in the Upper Room. It was called this because it was located in an upstairs shopping plaza and seated 120 people.  Today, our ministry has expanded and we are presently located on a 9 acre land tract with a facility to accommodate a growing congregation.

As Pastor Parker continued to obey the calling of God’s work, the Lord poured out his blessings upon his life.  In 2000, God allowed Pastor Parker to do the one gift he loved, which was producing and writing music.  Subsequently, in 2001 Godson Records was formed.  This record label is designed and dedicated to promoting God’s word through music and song.  As President and CEO of Godson Records, Pastor Parker writes, produces, arranges and engineers music.

With all his many talents and gifts, his heart and dedication is to God first, then to his family, (loving wife, Eula, 2 sons Darrell and Justin, and 2 stepdaughters Latina and Toni) and the ministry which is incorporated into all his works.  Through the years, Pastor Parker has received many honorable awards and degrees.  But his number one goal and mission is to reach this generation and demonstrate to them, “The Power of God!”
